RUDY: Andrew Bayada
The father of Piet, mid-thirties, is a quiet and hard-working orchardist, in love with Daphne but worried his new relationship will upset Piet. There hasn’t been a female influence in the household for a number of years.

JOHANNES: Joost van Delft
Rudy’s father and Piet’s grandfather, is a cheeky older Dutch immigrant, with a sense of fun and spontaneity. He is also sentimental, a trait Piet inherited.

WOODEN STATUE: Miranda Boyde
The wooden statue on the street organ is stiff in her movements but warm and caring in her heart. She is the temporary maternal figure Piet is missing. She entertains him with her dancing.

DAPHNE: Miranda Boyde
Rudy’s new girlfriend has a remarkable resemblance to the wooden statue – a gentle and sympathetic soul.

A voice on the radio that announces the songs.

MOTHER: Melinda Farrell
Piet’s mother - a mysterious & absent figure represented in Piet’s daydreams by a few of the females he passes by during the day.
